Clients/Projects: SCI-Arc
Handled PR and strategic counsel for three projects at the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc), including the Cleantech Corridor/Green District architecture competition project positioning SCI Arc as a thought leader in the areas of civic and sustainable/green technology design; the “Main Event 9” fundraising event hosted by CAA, and oversaw the communications plan involving twenty student-led teams from universities around the world appealing the U.S. Department of Interior’s (DOI) January 11 decision to relocate the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Solar Decathlon 2011 from the National Mall to an alternate site. Scripted and co-produced a video that went viral featuring Elisabeth Neigert, a Masters of Architecture degree candidate at the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc), who was the spokesperson organizing and leading the protest on behalf of the students who have entered the Solar Decathlon 2011. Following a highy successful social media campaign, including multiple stories in the Washington Post, the DOI agreed to the students’ appeal not to move the Decathlon off site.
